Web Services Wishlist

Web services supporting photo sharing include:

  • Facebook
  • Flickr
  • PicasaWeb
  • SmugMug

... and more.

Desired Features

We'd like to have full synchronization with these services in Shotwell, so the user can browse and edit photos in highest-quality possible from their local machine.  To do this, we need the following features:

  • Upload photos to new Web (i.e. Facebook) album
  • Upload to existing Web album (created by Web service)
  • Upload to existing Web album (created by Shotwell)
  • Synchronize edits from Shotwell to Web album
  • Synchronize from Web album to Shotwell
  • Synchronize deletions from Shotwell to Web album
  • Synchronize deletions from Web album to Shotwell (this does not imply the local copy is deleted, only that it no longer appears in Shotwell as associated with this Web album)
  • Enumerate/browse existing Web albums with Shotwell
  • Synchronize title/description with Web album
  • Send (or synchronize?) tagged friends with Web album
